Millennium Fellowship Project: Shudin - pleasant day
Project Description : Shudin (Pleasant Day)
The project Shudin, meaning “pleasant day,” was initiated with the vision of bringing positivity, awareness, and emotional well-being into the everyday lives of the students on our campus. The central idea behind this initiative was the belief that if individuals feel better, think optimistically, and understand their own mental state, they can bring meaningful changes into their lives and surroundings.
To begin this journey, I chose to focus on mental health awareness. I strongly believe that before working with individuals on a personal level, it is essential to educate them about what mental health truly is, why it matters, and when one should seek professional support. With this purpose, I organized a mental health seminar in my department and invited a professional psychologist to guide and enlighten the participants.
The seminar was highly successful. Students from different backgrounds attended, listened attentively, engaged in conversations, and asked valuable questions. Their active participation showed a genuine interest in learning and understanding mental well-being. The psychologist provided clear explanations, shared practical insights, and addressed students’ concerns with professionalism and empathy.
One of the most encouraging outcomes of this seminar was that several students later reached out to the psychologist for personal support. This confirms that the initiative has already started making a positive impact. It also strengthens my belief that Shudin is moving in the right direction and bringing me closer to the goal of supporting individuals on a deeper, more personal level.
The success of this seminar has laid a strong foundation for the next segments of the project. I look forward to continuing this journey and creating more “pleasant days” for the people in our campus community.
