Millennium Fellowship Project: Breaking the Barriers : Equality in Everywhere
The project headline is "Breaking the Barriers: Equality in Everywhere" that work for the Persons with Disabilities" concluded its impactful journey, leaving a legacy of inclusion and empowerment in our community. This project ensure United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDG) number 10(Reduced Inequality). ,along with goal number 4 (Ensuring Education) , by addressing systemic barriers faced by
persons with disabilities. The project focused on fostering accessibility in education,equal rights, employment, and public spaces while amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities. This is basically worked for the students(Youth Generation) so that they can't think themselves as a burden and they can live
like a common healthy person.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ummay Fatima Mim, a young and energetic girl, who always believe in herself and pay value to others. In her childhood, her upbringing was in village, a riverine village, from where she witnessed the daily struggle of the boatman. From her childhood, she always wanted to do something for her country, for her society. After her admission into the University, finally she introduced to her dream path. She became involved in various organization. She worked for the marginal people. She did - fundraise for the winter clothes of the poor marginal people whose work in the tea garden, donate hand sanitizer and N95 mask to the road cleaner, involved in water project named Ombu which installed Double platform tubewells to the flood affected area. As she is a student of International Relations, she wanted to expand her career in both Civil service so that she could be a servant of her country and also in Organization for the wellbeing of the nation. Through her expertise, she become a "Team lead at Youth Disability and Inclusion team, under SAVE Youth, Capacity Team Building Member of LCOY Bangladesh, Executive member of World Youth Army, Alumni of Aspire Program 2024, HR focal of Project Ombu,Give Bangladesh " and so on team. She wanted to carry out her legacy and represent her campus worldwide through Millennium Campus Network.
