" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it gives me the platform to amplify my voice in advocating for patients’ rights and healthcare equity. I do this work because I believe every person, regardless of background, deserves timely and dignified access to healthcare. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Health Access and Equitability

“Health Access and Equitability” is a community-centered initiative designed to empower people with accurate knowledge about their health rights, available services, and pathways to equitable care. The project addresses barriers such as misinformation, corruption, long waiting times, and inconsistent access to essential services. Through hospital-based engagement, community outreach, student sensitization, and social-media advocacy, the project promotes early health-seeking behavior and educates the public on free services offered in government facilities. By strengthening awareness and encouraging accountability, the initiative aims to improve patient experiences, reduce preventable delays, and contribute to fair, accessible healthcare for economically disadvantaged populations.
