Kabarak University | Nakuru, Kenya | Advancing SDG 5, SDG 16 & UNAI 6

" Kenya has made significant strides in recognising women’s rights on paper. However, societal attitudes, weak enforcement and economic disparities put women at a disadvantage. The fight for gender equality in Kenya is still on. With Millennium Fellowship on my side of the fight, I will be able to push for the required advocacy for stronger policies and also take part in sufficient grassroots activism. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: TRM
I chose to deal with SDG 5, which is about gender equality. Particularly, I wanted to help women who have been involved in intimate partner violence. So far, I have managed to give support to a few who have been victims. Moving forward, I seek to establish a steady group to advocate for these women and also speak against laws that hinder the advancement of justice in such cases
