" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I want to learn new skills , This fellowship will help me to work closely with local communities and make a real difference through my actions. Coming from Kashmir, I have seen how important it is to take stand for yourself and others, because every voice matters. This fellowship will give me a chance to grow and help me to move closer to my goals. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: SPEAK UP, YOU'RE NOT ALONE

My project is about speaking against sexual harassment. Some people whom I know personally have faced it and I'm sure there must be many more people who are facing this not only girls but boys also, but they usually don't talk about it because they are scared, they think if they will speak about it The society will blame them for the things they have suffered. So they keep enduring that pain, because of this they suffer from anxiety, depression and many other things. So I want to start a campaign in different areas to raise awareness about such issues,so that it won't happen to them or their loved ones or at least they can speak about it.

About the Millennium Fellow

Mir Souliha is a second year Law student from Srinagar, kashmir. Growing up in a place with many difficulties, Souliha has seen how important it is for people to know about their rights and how to take stand for themselves. This experience has inspired her and now she will use law as a tool for social change. She wants to help others, especially those who can't take stand for themselves. As a Millennium Fellow, Souliha hopes to work closely with local communities, learn new skills and try to make some difference through her actions.
