" I believe that change begins with conversation. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I'm excited to connect with young leaders who share my passion for mental health, and together create solutions that break stigma and inspire hope among the people. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: TALK ABOUT IT

This project focuses on breaking the societal stigma around mental health by raising awareness and encouraging open conversations. It promotes believing, trusting, and engaging with those struggling, emphasizing that mental health issues can affect anyone. The initiative successfully reached more people than expected, particularly on campus, and explored providing free support through psychologists. Plans include establishing a toll-free line to offer accessible counseling to youth anytime, anywhere.

About the Millennium Fellow

Angel Claire is a first-year student at KCA University pursuing a degree in Counseling Psychology. She previously studied Community Resource Management at Kenyatta University when I applied for this program before transitioning to focus more directly on mental health and youth empowerment. Claire has served as a Journalism and Debate chairlady, gaining strong leadership and public speaking skills. She envisions starting an NGO to support youth and promote mental well-being. Through the Millennium Fellowship, she hopes to strengthen her impact and develop sustainable community solutions.
