Millennium Fellowship Project: MindRise Circles for Mental Wellness and Identity

MindRise Circles is run by young people focused on mental health and lifting up their communities looking to offer trusted spots where peers talk freely about who they are, how they feel under pressure, what’s weighing on them emotionally, or ways they're growing personally. Instead of just talking, these gatherings use structured circle formats, real-life stories, thoughts tied to culture, along with open back-and-forth chats so youth can grow stronger, believe more in themselves, and feel like they truly fit somewhere. Weekly meetups happen at Kenyatta University while also reaching out into nearby neighborhoods, helping participants let down walls, speak from the heart, lean on one another with special attention to guys who usually get told to keep pain locked inside. Over time, this effort builds everyday habits around kindness, staying linked, looking after inner balance - all shaped by what matters most within the community.
