Millennium Fellowship Project: Tumaini La Kesho (Hope for Tomorrow)

Tumaini la Kesho is a community-driven initiative based in Kibera, Kenya’s largest informal settlement, dedicated to empowering children, youth, and families through education, mentorship, and sustainable living. The project was founded on the belief that every child deserves a chance to dream and thrive, regardless of their background.
Our work began at Saviour King Education Center, where we provided mentorship and learning support to children from vulnerable families. Over time, Tumaini la Kesho expanded its focus to include environmental awareness, health education, and life-skills training helping the community build a foundation for a brighter future.
Through partnerships with local organizations and volunteers, the project runs activities such as:
• Mentorship and education support for school-aged children.
• Awareness campaigns on proper waste management, plastic reduction, and community cleanups.
• Health and wellness outreach programs addressing issues like hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care.
• Youth empowerment initiatives that equip young people with leadership and vocational skills.
By combining education, environmental action, and community engagement, Tumaini la Kesho aims to nurture hope, promote self-reliance, and create a ripple effect of positive change across Kibera and beyond with th mission to walk with them, support them, and remind them that their dreams are valid.
