Millennium Fellowship Project: Instilling Rwandan Tradition in Youths.
This project aims to reduce cultural erosion among Rwandan youth by teaching them about Rwandan traditions, values, and history in a fun and engaging way. Many young people today are losing touch with their culture, and studies at Kepler showed that most students rated their cultural knowledge below 20%. This shows that cultural identity is fading.
To solve this, the project introduces the Cultural Heritage Education Program, which will work with schools, communities, and organizations like the Imbuto Foundation. The program will teach cultural practices through workshops, storytelling, traditional music, dance, crafts, and visits to cultural sites. It will also use technology by creating an online cultural archive to store and share Rwandan cultural materials.
The project will run for 6 months and cost 62,832,000 Rwf. It focuses on youth, especially primary school children, to help them learn cultural values early. The program also collaborates with teachers, trainers, communities, and cultural experts to ensure quality and sustainability.
