I'm a researcher, pursuing laboratory science and technology and I know there is more out there which has not been explored that can actually make a change,to start with SDG 3,Good health and well being,we are faced with. Problem of antibiotic resistance and drugs are not treating the infections or diseases they are meant to treat,well there's a solution, "bacteriophages', The problem of hunger,this can be solved to by biotechnology and also bacteriophages This platform will give me an opportunity to share my ideas and also to learn from others
..I'm actually excited to be part of a passionate team which is committed to.making a real and lasting change "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Microbial analysis of spring water in Maseno
My project focused on clean water and sanitation where I was analysis the microbial content of spring water that the locals around maseno use for their domestic use to check on its safety for human use. The total number of springs were 13 and all were analysed
..results are in the process of being included in the report.. we only need clean water as we all know water is life
About the Millennium Fellow
Awuor caren stecy,a fourth year student at kisii university is a passionate student who is guided by ambitions, curiosity and the belief that change actually begins with imagination. With the experience so far as a member of sustainable and development goals in school and a member of CESDA Im driven by the urge to make the world a better place to live in and to make a change that is a positive change that will also be an advantage to the future generation,with my course which involves research,I look forward to finding hidden treasures or solutions to the many problems we are facing as at now as a Nation and the world at whole .I believe in disciplinary approaches and the power of science communication to inspire change.
My vision is to contribute to a healthier,more equitable and sustainable future by integrating scientific innovation ,policy engagement and community education
No one has to be left behind.
