Millennium Fellowship Project: EMPOWERING MEN AGAINST MENTAL HEALTH STIGMA
The project being targeted at the youth at Kisii University to combat stigma and promote emotional well-being among youth. As a mental health advocate at the university, I recognized the deep-rooted silence, fear, and misinformation surrounding mental health that prevents many students from seeking help. This project aims to create a supportive campus culture where mental health is openly discussed, understood, and prioritized.
Through peer education, awareness campaigns, and safe-space forums, the project engages students in meaningful conversations about anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional resilience. Activities include monthly mental health dialogues, “Let’s Talk” walk-in sessions, and an annual Mental Health Week featuring guest speakers, student performances, art exhibitions, and self-care workshops.
