" Being a Millennium Fellow is an opportunity to amplify my impact, connect with like-minded change makers, and create sustainable solutions that empower communities. I do this work because I believe every action, no matter how small, can spark lasting change "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Lakeside Communities Empowerment

This project targets vulnerable and marginalized communities around Lake Victoria, particularly women and girls involved in transactional sex for fish. It empowers them with alternative, sustainable livelihoods through green solutions such as making eco-briquettes, tree planting, and smart agriculture. The initiative also engages people with disabilities and addresses climate concerns, aiming to provide both economic empowerment and environmental benefits. The project has successfully completed its idea and initial implementation stages.
