ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2025

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

" Antimicrobial resistance is on the rise and with time it will get out of hand. This is a major challenge into the healthcare system now and I believe there are many people out there who are also bothered by this development and so I believe working collaboratively with people who have the same aim would help address this issue easily and effectively. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: PROJECT RED

PROJECT RED is a youth-centered outreach project aimed at addressing tramadol
abuse among Ghanaian youth. The initiative focuses on education, awareness
campaigns, and community engagement to empower young people with knowledge
and healthier alternatives while reducing stigma around seeking help.
Measurable Goals (August–December 2025):
Reach at least 1,000 youth through school and community sensitization programs.
Host major awareness campaigns in partnership with local organizations and health
professionals.
Train 50 peer educators to serve as ambassadors against tramadol abuse.
Develop and distribute 500 educational materials (flyers, posters, and digital content).
Establish a baseline and follow-up survey to measure shifts in awareness and attitudes
toward tramadol use.

About the Millennium Fellow

Opoku Akosua Nyantakyiwaa is a young lady who is pursuing a BSc Nursing program at KNUST. She was born in Ghana and reside there too.She is a very passionate young woman who is very much concern about health of her family neighborhood and nation as a whole and so made her take the path of becoming a nursing to render health care services to everyone. She believe everyone world in the world deserves a proper health status and so wants to help anyone she meets so that the person becomes healthy in any little way she could do to help. She is passionate about the proper use of drugs amongst the community members so that it would reduce antimicrobial resistance. She believe this will help in rendering proper services to sick people. So she wants to utilize this platform very well to help build that.
