UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT SAMUELLA OPOKU AGYEMANG, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology | Kumasi, Ghana | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 5

" Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamt of working with the United Nations, especially on initiatives that promote education for young people, particularly young girls. I believe every girl should be able to dream freely, without being told her aspirations are ‘too big.’ No dream should be cut short.
I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers me a powerful platform to advocate for these young voices and align my work with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Quality Education (SDG 4) and Gender Equality (SDG 5). This Fellowship is an opportunity to collaborate with passionate change makers from around the world, exchange ideas, and create lasting impact.
I'm ready to give my all: learning, sharing, and unlocking abilities I never knew I had to ensure every young person, regardless of their background, has the tools and opportunities to achieve their dreams. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Sunshine in You Project
“The Sunshine In You†is my personal mission to spark confidence, leadership, and purpose in young people and women from underserved communities. Through outreach sessions next semester, I’ll lead mentorship circles, public speaking workshops, and civic education activities, creating safe, inspiring spaces where their voices aren’t just heard, but empowered. This project reflects everything I stand for: advocacy, education, and lighting up the potential people often overlook. It’s not about changing the world in a day, it’s about reminding someone they have light in them, even when life’s been dark.
