" Hope. It's scary seeing people seem so hopeless so dark. I want to be part of the change and I believe that the Millennium Fellowship program can give me an opportunity to do this. It can give me an incentive and insight on the changes which I can make and all I have in my heart is hope. To make the world a better place "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Open Book
The 'Open Book' project is a group initiative addressing the issues of quality education. As Nelson Mandela once said, 'Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.' Recognizing its transformative power, this project aims to increase access to education and promote a more equitable world. Through outreach programs, awareness campaigns, and material distribution, we aim to make education accessible to all, regardless of gender. Additionally, the project aims to address the issue of gender inequality in society by educating parents on the importance of educating both their boy and girl children. Our ultimate goal is to create a world where both genders can aspire to any position. During the Millennium Fellowship period, 'Open Book' will host three outreach events focused on creating awareness, distributing materials to children, and conducting surveys. Our goal is to reach approximately 200 people through these events, fostering a community that values quality education and promoting lasting change.
About the Millennium Fellow
Raji Tamilore is a scared girl. She's scared of the world and what it has become. She walks, moving like water wondering when the world became so evil. By the time she turns 30, some of the animals she grew up with would be extinct. By the time she is 45, the glaciers in Antarctica would probably have melted. By the time she's 50, the world population would have surpassed the available food rations available. It's scary the way she moves with wariness wondering and hoping, wishing and thinking that maybe before 60 the world would be better so instead of waiting she wants to help. At least she can say she did something and didn't just watch as the world went done in flames. So yes, Tamilore is scared of the world and what is has become but she's still hopeful that there can be a change.
