APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University | Thiruvananthapuram, India | Advancing SDG 11, SDG 3 & UNAI 9

" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it aligns with my belief that meaningful change begins with informed, collaborative action. The work I do is driven by a desire to create spaces where learning, opportunity, and leadership are accessible to all. Through volunteering and student-led initiatives, I have seen how small, well-intentioned efforts can create lasting impact. The Fellowship represents a chance to strengthen my ability to translate ideas into action, learn from a global community of changemakers, and contribute thoughtfully to initiatives that advance equity, sustainability, and social responsibility. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Overflow Ends With Us
Our project, "Overflow Ends with Us", aims to improve waste management in public spaces by introducing smart bins with sensors that detect when they are full and automatically notify the authorities for timely clearance. In addition, citizens will have the option to report issues such as overflowing bins, malfunctioning lids, or other concerns through a simple feedback system. To make waste disposal more convenient, the project will also include a feature that helps people locate the nearest available dustbin. Together, these measures will ensure cleaner surroundings, reduce overflow, and create a healthier community environment.
