" Millions of Americans rely on blood donors for life-saving surgeries, yet our nation faces a severe blood shortage. I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow and transform awareness into action by establishing annual "Donation Days" on my college campus, making blood donations more accessible and impactful. I believe that meaningful global change begins at the community level, and I am committed to supporting patients, doctors, and hospitals through this work. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Bridge the White Coat Gap
Bridge the White Coat Gap is a student-founded initiative dedicated to making medical and dental school accessible for low-income students who dream of serving their communities. With rising tuition costs and shrinking loan access, we’re at risk of losing the next generation of compassionate healthcare providers. We’re inviting corporations and philanthropic leaders to join us in changing lives, one white coat at a time! We hope to fund and mentor aspiring doctors and dentists from underserved communities through scholarships, partnerships, and sustainable fundraising, removing future financial barriers to medical and dental education set by recent policy changes. This organization can eliminate financial and systemic barriers that prevent underserved students from pursuing medical and dental education. Bridge the White Coat Gap aims to provide scholarships, mentorship, and institutional support to 20–30 students per year across the United States. Measurable Goals include: • Form an executive board: including founder/president, VP, secretary/treasurer
• Establish as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
• Survey pre-med/dental students and complex data on financial need and dropout risk.
• Create a list of target med/dental schools to pilot partnerships.
• Legal registration, branding, and mission statement.
• Launch a simple informational website and social media presence.
• Draft scholarship application and review criteria.
