" The Millennium Fellowship will allow me to grow and expand my outreach to people around the world and expand my global mindset. Fostering an environment to promote sustainable changes and work with others who are passionate about finding economical solutions will lead to innovations for the environment and will push new boundaries. Getting to collaborate and learn from others that are led by the UNAI principles will give me further ideas and creative liberty to experiment and create new content. The skills I hope to gain through advocacy and problem solving will allow me to inquire and be more open-minded to discovering new solutions and motivating change within my community. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Educational Podcast

My project is an educational podcast about the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness that aims to promote the well-being of the environment and helps conserve the untouched land. My podcast focuses on explaining what the BWCA are and how to properly visit them to best preserve the land for future generations. The episodes have assorted topics ranging from firsthand experiences to interviews with professionals who are striving to save this amazing location from potential threats such as sulfur-ore mining. There have been many imposed threats to the BWCA, some of which can be easily controlled by educating individuals about the rules and regulations that help preserve the land and keep it clean, however, it is critical that we keep this region protected under law to eliminate the possibility of having toxic waste enter the untarnished ecosystem. This podcast informs listeners about the threats that the BWCA faces daily and encourages them to act on a local and national level. This ensures that the land remains untouched by urban development and allows the wilderness to remain in a healthy and safe environment for all creatures and for tourists to live life off the grid in nature adequately.
