Millennium Fellowship Project: DISABILITY AWARENESS and INCLUSION CLUB

The Disability Awareness and Inclusion Club is an initiative created to tackle the challenges faced by children with disabilities in Malawi, including stigma, discrimination, and limited access to early rehabilitation services. These barriers often delay critical intervention and prevent many children from attending school or participating fully in their communities.
The project focuses on establishing inclusive and supportive spaces where children with disabilities and their caregivers can connect, learn, and feel empowered. It aims to increase understanding of disability rights, build caregiver confidence, and promote early rehabilitation as an essential step toward greater independence.
By reducing stigma and encouraging community involvement, the initiative works toward improving overall well-being and promoting equality. It aligns with international development goals such as SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
In essence, the project is dedicated to fostering dignity, inclusion, and meaningful opportunities for children with disabilities and their families, helping to create a more informed and supportive community.
