" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I believe true leadership is service. Through this platform, I get to turn my passion for media, education, and social impact into real change that uplifts my community and beyond. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Health Awareness on Campus
The project covers:
1. Counseling Unit Awareness
The program will focus on creating awareness about the availability of the campus counseling unit, its services, and how students can benefit. The counseling unit will be highlighted as a safe space for students to seek guidance on issues related to mental health, stress, and general well-being.
2. Mental Health Awareness and Stress Management
Through organized workshops, seminars, and educational materials, we will educate students about mental health, resilience, and stress management. By developing a growth mindset and practicing self-care, students will be better equipped to handle academic and personal pressures.
3. Donations of Materials and Resources
The success of this program relies on collaboration. We will seek donations of materials such as counseling guides, hygiene supplies, and other resources essential to mental health awareness. Contributions from partners and stakeholders will support program continuity.
4. Collaborating with Mental Health NGOs
A representative from a reputable NGO specializing in mental health will be invited to speak at our events, provide professional insights, and guide students in developing positive coping mechanisms. Their expertise will enrich the program and reinforce the message of mental health care.
5. Counseling and Support Sessions
Counseling sessions will be offered to students in a safe, supportive environment. These sessions, led by trained counselors and faculty from the counseling department, will offer guidance on managing academic stress, personal struggles, and mental health issues.
