Millennium Fellowship Project: Mind over Matters

Mind Over Matters is a youth-focused mental health initiative created to support young people affected by family conflict, instability, and emotional trauma. The project provides safe spaces where young people can express themselves freely, access relatable mental-health resources, and learn practical coping strategies.
Our work combines storytelling, peer support, and digital outreach to break the silence around home-related trauma. We use online communities, awareness content, and virtual sessions to help young people process their experiences in a healthy way.
Beyond emotional support, Mind Over Matters also empowers affected youth with skill-building opportunities such as online courses, workshops, and mentorship to help them grow, rediscover confidence, and pursue their goals despite their circumstances.
Ultimately, the initiative aims to build one of the largest African communities where young people can heal, feel seen, and rise above the limitations of their backgrounds.
