" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers a platform to transform ideas into measurable impact, connect with like-minded change makers, and amplify the voices of the communities I serve. I do this work because I believe that service, when done with purpose, can rewrite the future that my younger ones will live in. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: AWAKE (Art, Knowledge & Empowerment)
AWAKE is a project I created to encourage young people to use their skills in meaningful ways. The idea was simple: many students are talented, but they don’t always see how their creativity can be used to inform, inspire, or make a difference in their communities.
Throughout the project, I engaged students in conversations about their abilities and showed them practical ways those skills can contribute to positive change, whether through art, writing, design, or any other form of expression. AWAKE focused on helping them understand that talent can be a tool for influence and responsibility.
The project aimed to shift mindsets, build confidence, and help young people see value in what they already have.
