United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Joint Action for Innovative Leadership (JAIL)

The Project is civic engagement project linked to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong institutions). It is a Campus based project that creates awareness for political participation, serves as a platform through which students hold their leaders accountable and encourages it practical aspect not just awareness. It aimed at building futuristic leaders, laying the foundation of practicing good governance and solving the abnormalities inherent in the governance in my community.

About the Millennium Fellow

Mubashir Awwal Omotosho is a creative, young, and globally competitive political science student at Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria. He was born in Nigeria, resides in Lagos, and is currently studying at Lagos State University, Lagos, Nigeria; truly a bonafide citizen of Lagos State.
For as long as he can remember, he has lived with a curious mind that breeds creativity and critical thinking. He has been passionate about his advocacy for civil rights and good governance. This drive translate itself from Awwal’s experience with governmental proceedings through student leadership and his continued dedication to social action.
Currently in his university years, he has successfully been involved in various projects and movements that resonate with his vision of good governance; and, through his outstanding dedication, he plans to continue this in the future. Awwal aspires to enter a professional field where he can cultivate these advocacies further and contribute to the achievement of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.
