Before joining LAU, I deeply struggled with choosing the right major. I came from a private Lebanese school following a traditional system, assuming I was prepared, until I realized the skills and knowledge required in university were totally different due to limited guidance. I started thinking about less privileged students in public schools and rural areas who don’t have access to modern educational resources, and the people I meet in my village who gave up on their dreams because of these systematic gaps in education. Therefore, my project aims to make the “ school to university” transition easier for these communities. LAU students will mentor high school seniors, supporting them with admissions, scholarships, and preparations for university life. Workshops will also be organized to provide them with key skills needed like leadership, communication, and other social skills.
