Lebanese American University Beirut | Beirut, Lebanon | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 11 & UNAI 8

" Economics, at its core, is about people—understanding their choices, challenges, and opportunities. As a Millennium Fellow, I am excited to translate theory into action by designing solutions that address inequality and empower marginalized communities. The Fellowship will sharpen my ability to bridge data-driven analysis with grassroots advocacy, ensuring my work aligns with the SDGs and creates measurable change. Collaborating with global peers, I hope to redefine economic systems that are not only efficient but also equitable. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Public Health and Environmental Awareness Lake Qaroun
My project, Sustainable Litani, focuses on raising
awareness among institutions , organizations ,
factories that are directly linked to this river about
the Litani River's pollution crisis and its solutions.
By advising policy makers, NGOs, schools, and
universities based on founded science and side
by side with the help of my doctors that have
background information about this topic at
Lebanese American University, I highlight how
clean energy (SDG 7), water filtration (SDG 6),
and green job training (SDG 8) can collectively
tackle health risks (SDG 3) while empowering
communities. Through workshops, partnerships,
and advocacy, I aim to turn awareness into
actionable strategies for a sustainable future.
One important factor that will help me is that my
academic studies of the SDGs at university have
equipped me with the framework to develop
Sustainable Litani's awareness campaigns for
institutions and organizations.
