Millennium Fellowship Project: Flow Without Fear
Flow Without Fear is a project that targets adolescence/secondary school girls at rural communities or public secondary schools. It’s all about educating and helping girls in these underserved communities learn about their periods in a healthy, open way, and making sure they have what they need to manage them safely. Many girls miss school during their periods because they can’t afford pads or feel embarrassed about it. I want to solve this problem by organizing interactive and fun workshops, where we talk honestly about menstrual health, particularly the alarm symptoms that could be indicative of disease processes of female reproductive system; clear up common myths, and teach how to make reusable pads. We’ll also give out reusable pad kits and train some active students to keep the teaching going and provide them a means they could contact us even after the project ends.
