UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT STEPHEN OLUWATOBI OYEWALE, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology | Ogbomosho, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 5 & UNAI 3

" The Millennium Fellowship is a very prestigious one, renowned for her tremendous impact across various societal climes. Having the privileged to be part of the 2025 cohort will help scale my social impact journey.
First, being part of the fellowship will grant me more practical understanding of the problem I am passionate about and the solutions that can be proferred to them.
Through the various societal impact sessions that will be facilitated, my perspective and scope on societal impact will be broadened.
In addition, I have observed that impact is not a one-man show. It takes a collective team to change the narratives of things societally. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I will have the privileged of meeting, interacting and collaborating with other young change makers who are also passionate about societal transformation. Being in this circle of individuals is a lifetime opportunity for impact that can even extend beyond the period of the fellowship.
Moreover, I have noticed the high quality mindset that Millennium Fellows have on completion of the program. It stands them out. They have a different view of problems and find ways to solve them without allocating blames. They take responsibility wherever they are. I believe this is because of the nature of the impact curriculum the fellowship exposes them to. I believe joining this Fellowship in 2025 will have a greater positive mentality shift on me too. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Flow Without Fear
Flow Without Fear is a project that targets adolescence/secondary school girls at rural communities or public secondary schools. It’s all about educating and helping girls in these underserved communities learn about their periods in a healthy, open way, and making sure they have what they need to manage them safely. Many girls miss school during their periods because they can’t afford pads or feel embarrassed about it. I want to solve this problem by organizing interactive and fun workshops, where we talk honestly about menstrual health, particularly the alarm symptoms that could be indicative of disease processes of female reproductive system; clear up common myths, and teach how to make reusable pads. We’ll also give out reusable pad kits and train some active students to keep the teaching going and provide them a means they could contact us even after the project ends. This project is in-line with SDGs (3 & 5).
