" As a One Health advocate, I'm excited to join a network of change makers who turn ideas into action—because animal, human, and planetary health cannot thrive in isolation. I believe Millennium Fellow offers a unique platform to amplify my work at the intersection of One Health and sustainable development. By bridging veterinary medicine, community education, and environmental stewardship, I believe we can tackle pressing challenges—from zoonotic diseases to antimicrobial resistance—while fostering resilience in vulnerable communities. This fellowship is a catalyst for the collaborative, interdisciplinary change our world urgently needs. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Plastic Action Project
Plastic Action Project is a student-led initiative at LUANAR aimed at combating plastic pollution in Mitundu community. From September to December 2025, we will conduct a baseline survey to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices on plastic management, implement targeted awareness campaigns with hands-on activities, and then carry out a follow-up survey to measure change. Our measurable goal is to reach at least 500 community members, achieve a 40% increase in correct plastic-waste handling practices, and establish at least one active community group championing sustainable plastic management.
