" "A conviction that an impact starts with a person, drives my ambition in the work I do. I am happy to be a Millennium Fellow because my leadership, management and organizational skills, will be perfected and strengthened. This will amplify, expand and set me for a larger positive impact in local communities and at a global stage. I am even eager to bring my contribution on the table for the success of this fellowship." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Plastic Action Project
Plastic Action Project is a student-led initiative at LUANAR aimed at combating plastic pollution in Mitundu community. From September to December 2025, we will conduct a baseline survey to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices on plastic management, implement targeted awareness campaigns with hands-on activities, and then carry out a follow-up survey to measure change. Our measurable goal is to reach at least 500 community members, achieve a 40% increase in correct plastic-waste handling practices, and establish at least one active community group championing sustainable plastic management.
