" A global platform where creative minds come together to discuss ways for a more sustainable environment for them and future generations is an ideal place, one I've always wanted to be a part of, for me. The aim is to create a more sustainable environment and development meeting the UN's SDGs. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Plastic Action Project

Plastic Action Project is a student-led initiative at LUANAR aimed at combating plastic pollution in Mitundu community. From September to December 2025, we will conduct a baseline survey to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices on plastic management, implement targeted awareness campaigns with hands-on activities, and then carry out a follow-up survey to measure change. Our measurable goal is to reach at least 500 community members, achieve a 40% increase in correct plastic-waste handling practices, and establish at least one active community group championing sustainable plastic management.
