" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to combine my passion for mental health awareness with leadership, while working toward building inclusive communities that align with the SDGs. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Lifted Minds

My project is called Lifted Minds. I created it because I’i've seen how many people, especially students, struggle with their mental health in silence. I’i've also seen how hard it can be to ask for help, especially when resources are expensive, not culturally sensitive, or just not available. I started Lifted Minds to make mental health feel more accessible, more relatable, and something we can all talk about without shame. Through social media, I share bilingual content (English and Spanish) that combines education, storytelling, and creative visuals to break stigma and build community. During the Millennium Fellowship, I plan to expand Lifted Minds into an on-campus and digital initiative. I’ll lead peer-based workshops, launch a Mental Health Visibility Week, and collaborate with student orgs to share helpful tools. I also plan to launch an apparel line through social media, using design to spark conversation—and donating a portion of proceeds to mental health support services. This project matters to me because I know what's like to need support and not know where to turn. I believe mental health should never be a luxury, it’s a human right. Lifted Minds is about reminding people they’are not alone.
