United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Makerere Technology Society

Makerere Technology Society is a project which aims to cultivate a community of technocrats and innovators at Makerere University who are empowered to drive positive change and shape the future of technology on a local and global scale. Makerere Technology Society inspires, educates, and connect students passionate about technology by providing opportunities for hands-on learning, professional growth, and collaborative innovation, thereby enabling members to make impactful contributions to society. Makerere Technology Society organizes events, workshops, and competitions aimed at raising awareness of national issues and developing members’ technical and professional skills, Makerere Technology Society serves as a connection between students and potential employers hence enhancing career prospects. It is a society that comprises of continuing students and also those who have finished campus hence alumni who all benefit from the services offered by Makerere Technology Society.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sunday Emmanuel Hezekiah is a passionate social impact leader and technologist, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science at Makerere University. He is a co-founder of the Makerere Technology Society (www.maktechsociety.com), fostering innovation, skills development, and career opportunities for students and alumni. Formerly President of Greenlyf Network, he championed climate action and community resilience. With a deep commitment to quality education (SDG 4) and sustainable development, Sunday Emmanuel Hezekiah blends technology and social entrepreneurship to create lasting change, both on campus and in his home country of South Sudan.
