Millennium Fellowship Project: International Students Union
International Student’s Union (ISU) will be a non profit organization with the main objective of solving the challenges often faced by international students (in МГИМО university and eventually in Moscow) and integrating them into the university environment and broader society. These problems include: language barriers, cultural differences, limited access to academic and professional development. Therefore, ISU will be aligned with SDG 17 by strengthening cross-cultural collaboration, SDG 10 by bridging the gaps between international and local students, SDG 4 by promoting academic support. In another hand ISU will cover the UNAI Principle 3, by ensuring international students thrive academically and socially, and the UNAI Principle 9 by ensuring intercultural dialogue and understanding. The organizational structure of ISU will be a flat board where the decisions will be made collectively and board members will handle the technical and organizational tasks. It will have 3 main sectors: Events sector, which will be in charge of creating and organizing social, cultural and educational events and programs. Social Media, which will be responsible for outreach, digital communication and visibility. Scientific sector, responsible for collaborations in research, conferences, and academic opportunities. ISU’s short term goals are, developing “Buddies programâ€, cultural/historical trips and “Academic Bridge Initiativeâ€.
