Minerva University | San Francisco, United States | Advancing SDG 12, SDG 17 & UNAI 3

" By understanding and incorporating the voice of UNAI and other students that are passionate to achieve their goal in Millennium Fellow, I will be able to enhance my perspective and creativity on how I can pursue sustainability using my own strengths and interests. Because my ultimate goal is to enhance the idea that "environmental and personal well-being are achievable simultaneously", discovering various perspectives of sustainable leaders and understanding how their cultures and strengths are leading them to take actions will be a great knowledge when thinking about the ways I can expand my message to a more diverse audience. I am very excited for the many knowledge and interactions I will be able to gain from this opportunity. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: U-en-Me
This is a continuous project of a sustainable clothing brand I launched 2 years ago. The brand "u-en-me", aims to promote sustainability through well-being and entertainment, by producing products with modern designs using discarded Kimono fabrics, and hosting fashion shows/other music events that combine factors of Japanese culture and sustainability. Through the Millennium Fellowship Project, I will host a in-school event centered around Minerva University's diverse student backgrounds, by showcasing Japanese culture through music and u-en-me's products, as well as other unique cultures/traditions from the students. All donations and entrance fees I collect will be donated to Japanese Culture Heritage Foundation, as well as Login, both striving to preserve Japanese culture and its potential for sustainability. Overall, these projects will foster conversation within young generations of what "sustainability" means, as well as gaining tangible effect by providing financial resources to like minded organizations.
