Millennium Fellowship Project: Athlete Safeguarding and Wellbeing for MKU Athletes

The project is majorly about safeguarding the wellbeing of athletes within the Mount Kenya University (MKU) sports team. The main aim of our project is to look into systems put in place for the protection of athletes, for instance, GBV policy, persons with disability policies, recruitment and selection of coaches and volunteers, injury management, relationship between the sports department and the counseling department and many others. Looking into this will help us understand and appreciate what the school has achieved so far, and look into ways in which we can help strengthen the sports department to ensure athletes not only thrive in spots, but also in all other aspects of their lives.
