Millennium Fellowship Project: Smiles for Hope
Smiles for Hope is a project where I plan to deliver knowledge, skills and expertise to less privileged societies and demonstrate how they can maintain a good and healthy menstrual life. It is all about helping young girls who are starting their menstrual periods to feel confident and also provide safe and healthy menstrual products to the less fortunate. This aims at ending menstrual poverty and also try to eradicate menstrual shame that leaves most girls less confident to do their daily tasks and also with very low self esteem that leads on to their adult life. My idea is to raise funds through well wishers or my close friends and buy sanitary towels for these children and also educate them on how to safely use and dispose. I also envision to maybe produce reusable menstrual products that can be disinfected and reused so that those who cannot afford can find at least something to keep them going.
