" I am excited to be in the same space as other individuals whose agenda is to better their communities. Having being privileged to be a medical student and have medical information, I am passionate about sharing this information with my community. Having the opportunity to do this with the guidance and mentorship offered by Millennium Fellowship gives me the assurance that I'll be able to achieve my goal of sharing information with as many people as I can in the most effective way. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Medical Education by Immaculate
I would love to share my medical knowledge with my community. Being a medical student, I have acquired knowledge about common medical conditions which needs to be in the hands of the community and is missing. I would love to bridge this gap by educating the people within my reach and even further to as many people as I can and share this crucial information with them. I have so far educated a few people over my WhatsApp platform about some common medical conditions, how people can prevent them, early detection of some conditions and the management of some. My project involves reaching more people and covering more health topics on WhatsApp and Instagram, which are platforms used by many people but lack people sharing health information. Besides this, I will look for opportunities to educate people in physical gatherings to be able to reach even those not using social media. With more people being aware on the basics of common health conditions, they will be able to seek medical attention early, have a positive attitude towards some illnesses and cooperate in their management. Knowledge is power and it being in the hands of the people leads to better outcome.
