" My passion for health equity is driven by the belief that every individual deserves access to quality care, regardless of background or circumstance. The Millennium Fellowship offers a platform to refine my leadership, amplify my impact, and align my work in research and community health with the UNAI principles and Sustainable Development Goals. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Cancer Wounds
My project focuses on improving awareness, management, and support for individuals living with malignant/fungating cancer wounds. These wounds often lead to severe odor, pain, psychosocial distress, and stigma. The project provides education to caregivers, community health workers, and families on evidence-based wound care practices, including hygiene, infection prevention, odor control, and compassionate patient support. I also aim to reduce stigma by promoting understanding and empathy within the community. The project is grounded in my clinical nursing training and my ongoing research interest in effective treatments for cancer wounds.
