Millennium Fellowship Project: P.I.L.L.A.R.
Prevention through Interventions in Lifestyle, Learning, Awareness & Research (P.I.L.L.A.R) is a independent project led by Millennium Fellow Angel Chepuri. P.I.L.L.A.R. is a foundational step towards building a healthy life. Role of lifestyle interventions in disease prevention is studied and people are educated about them through different media platforms in this project. It addresses people of different age groups regarding their knowledge towards healthy lifestyle interventions for disease prevention. There will be online google forms, education sessions and social media approach carried out for the purpose of assessing people's understanding and educating them at the same time, during the Millennium Fellowship period (August-December 2025). We are aiming to reach about 150-200 people combined across all these events.
About the Millennium Fellow
Angel Chepuri is a dedicated and resilient medical student, currently pursuing her MBBS at Malla Reddy medical college for women. She was born and raised in the dynamic metropolitan city of Hyderabad in India.She has been deeply passionate about the field of medicine and surgery, since her formative years. Her early exposure to leadership, serving as a school representative during high school, helped her cultivate essential skills in communication, responsibility, and collaborative problem-solving. Her experience in medical school has deepened her understanding of how fundamental lifestyle interventions can significantly reduce the burden of preventable and sometimes incurable diseases .Working in a hospital environment has driven her thought towards a fact that a large group of people are unaware of the role that healthy lifestyle plays in preventing few fatal illnesses. This fellowship is an opportunity to help promote awareness about such medical facts that could help people in underdeveloped societies in attaining healthier approach to life and at the same time lead to research initiatives aimed at expanding pre-existing medical knowledge. Beyond her professional pursuits, she is passionate about music, painting and has an avid interest in movies.
