Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustainable Fashion over Fast Fashion
I have always been passionate about fashion as a means of expression and empowerment. Over time, I began to understand its environmental and social impact, realizing that the fashion we wear can influence the health of both people and the planet.
As a future healthcare professional, I believe human well-being is inseparable from environmental well-being. This belief inspired me to merge my interests in medicine and sustainability through the project “Sustainable Fashion Over Fast Fashion,” aiming to promote awareness, responsibility, and compassion in how we consume and create fashion.
The money raised from the events that I conducted will go to donate sustainable menstrual products to girls and women who cannot afford it.
About the Millennium Fellow
Guna Laxmi is a 21 year old born and brought up in the South Indian state Telangana, she is currently in her 3rd year of medical school pursuing her undergraduate degree. Known for her long hair and contagious smile! She is enthusiastic, energetic and kind. Guna enjoys dressing up , her keen interest in artsy makeup has ignited the artist within her which she cherishes and doing something meaningful in life bring her joy and a reason to wake up every morning. On quest over the internet to find something that leads her way to her goals is how she ended up registering for this fellowship.
