Millennium Fellowship Project: Fighting Obesity- A silent threat to Health
This project focuses on raising awareness regarding the growing problem of childhood obesity among children and adolescents. As a part of this initiative my volunteers (Non-Millennium Fellows) and I conducted an Obesity Awareness Session at a local school in my neighborhood. We used graphic illustrations and interactive discussions to engage the students effectively. The children were educated about what obesity is, it's causes, and it's harmful effects such as early onset diabetes, hypertension, and myocardial infarction, among other serious health consequences. In conclusion, the students were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle habits by incorporating physical activity and following preventative measures to prevent obesity at its early stages.
