" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it connects me with like-minded change makers who believe in building a better future. I do the work I do because I've seen how one idea, fueled by passion and persistence, can transform a life and a community "

Millennium Fellowship Project: CerviCare

CerviCare is an innovative health technology project focused on early detection and screening of cervical cancer in Tanzania and across Africa. The project centers around a self-sampling kit that allows women to collect cervical samples conveniently and safely in the privacy of their homes. These samples are then analyzed using an advanced DNA-based diagnostic machine, providing accurate and timely results.
The main goal of CerviCare is to increase accessibility to cervical cancer screening, especially for women in remote or underserved areas, thereby reducing late-stage diagnoses and improving treatment outcomes. The project also incorporates a digital platform and website for registration, kit ordering, result delivery, and patient follow-up, enhancing user experience and efficiency.
