" I am passionate about addressing Antimicrobial Resistance in the community. Being a medical student seeing many people who lose life easily due to drug resistance is so painful. Therefore being a Millennium Fellow will empower me with sufficient skills on how to encounter issues at community level. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Avoid Antimicrobial Resistance, Save Lives
My project deals with creating awareness among public school students regarding responsible antibiotic use, maintaining hygiene and sanitation to reduce the risk of infection, and making youths advocates and ambassadors for AMR awareness among families and unreached populations. The target audience includes public school students and school staff. Through this project, five public schools were reached, with approximately 2000+ young students educated on AMR. The schools’ administrations were very cooperative, which facilitated the success of the project.
