Malawi University of Science and Technology | Thyolo, Malawi | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 1 & UNAI 3

" I believe this is an opportunity to engage and network with my fellow youth on their success stories in solving community challenges similar to mine bearing in mind that am a youth who is motivated to promote Girl Child Education in my community, facing significant challenges to public health concerning water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) diseases like cholera and diarrhea. Flooding has disrupted sanitation surrounding schools, while droughts have affected water supply, leaving the majority of homes without clean water, which forces women and girls to to walk long distances to collect safe water, which affects their ability to do productive things like school or work. There are few educated girls than boys which is is not fair. Almost 2 out 10 girls to go to school in my area. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth Empowerment Project
The project was set to encourage students in secondary schools in our community to remind them of the value of education, but also motivate them to continue pursuing their studies. We would give them tips on how to succeed in school, but also given them direction on their road to further studies.
