United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Safe Haven Initiative
Safe Haven initiative is a campus project for the Millennium Fellowship class of 2025, at Mbarara university of science and technology, Mbarara-Uganda. It focuses on promoting mental well being for all through creating mental health awareness amongst the groups at risk of developing mental health disorders, promoting preventive measures and offering emotional support to such groups. It also aims at providing counseling services to those undergoing mental health disorders.
About the Millennium Fellow
Banda Dickson is a talented and vibrant youth; pursuing a Bachelor of science with education at Mbarara university of science and technology, Mbarara. He was born in Rakai district, a resident of Masaka, and studying from Mbarara district, Western Uganda. His passion is promoting the sustainable development goals in his local areas and worldwide. This has driven him into advocating for climate change, sustainable cities and communities. He hopes that his goals are shared with so many people across the world, who are aiming at transformation when collective effort is put into consideration, under the guidance of the fellowship.
