ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2025

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Safe Haven Initiative

Safe Haven initiative is a campus project for the Millennium Fellowship class of 2025, at Mbarara university of science and technology, Mbarara-Uganda. It focuses on promoting mental well being for all through creating mental health awareness amongst the groups at risk of developing mental health disorders, promoting preventive measures and offering emotional support to such groups. It also aims at providing counseling services to those undergoing mental health disorders.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nagawa Hellena Angella is a graduate pharmacist, public health advocate and committed leader passionate about advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality and climate justice. She currently serves as a member of the African Youth Antimicrobial Resistance Alliance Taskforce, where she leads initiatives at the intersection of antimicrobial resistance and reproductive health. Hellena has served in various leadership roles, including the first female Guild Speaker of Mbarara University and Vice President of the Uganda Pharmaceutical Students' Association, where she championed policy reforms and youth engagement. Her work spans community health outreach, combating period poverty, climate action and psychosocial support for survivors of gender-based violence. She aspires to use her expertise and leadership to create equitable, sustainable health systems that empower communities across Africa.
