Millennium Fellowship Project: Safe Haven Initiative
Safe Haven initiative is a campus project for the Millennium Fellowship class of 2025, at Mbarara university of science and technology, Mbarara-Uganda. It focuses on promoting mental well being for all through creating mental health awareness amongst the groups at risk of developing mental health disorders, promoting preventive measures and offering emotional support to such groups. It also aims at providing counseling services to those undergoing mental health disorders.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nyakato Leah is a young, bright passionate and globally competitive education student at Mbarara University of science and technology. She was born in Uganda resides in the Western part of Uganda, kasese and is currently studying at mbarara University of science and technology. Truly a citizen of the world. For as long as she could remember, Leah has always been passionate about her advocacies for women's rights, social justice and attainment of education for all global citizens. This drive translated itself from from Leah's experiences in the international community and her continuous dedication to social action. Throughout her high school years and currently in her college years, she has successfully organized various projects and social justice movements which through her understanding leadership, she plans to continue in the future. Leah aspires to be in a professional field where she can cultivate these advocacies further and provide her own b
