" I strive to convey the urgency of climate change in ways that inspire both immediate and long-term action. The Millennium Fellowship offers an incredible opportunity not only to spark critical thinking about Climate Action within my Northeastern community, but also to connect with forward-thinking leaders worldwide who are committed to creating positive change. I am deeply grateful for the chance to learn, collaborate, and amplify our impact together. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Dear 2050: Letters to Future Northeastern Students

My project aims to tell stories about Northeastern Student’s experiences with climate change. I will solicit short letters (which may be anonymous) from the student body by partnering with writing groups and climate organizations around campus, as well as by tabling on campus quads, and prompt participants to write about how climate change has impacted their lives, what they hope for, what they fear, and what they expect we as a university can accomplish in the next 25 years. Once I’i've collected these letters, I’ll present them in a “Climate Reflection Night” where participants can view the letters and have an open dialogue about Climate Action. The letters can be placed in a time capsule, digitally or physically, that will be saved for the future Northeastern community to open. Lastly, I’ll write an impact report about the entire experience, including letter collection, the content of the letters, and the Climate Reflection Night as an informal sociological study. My hope is that this project will convey the urgency to act now if we wish to see change 25 years from now. The nature of the letters provides a unique opportunity for the wider Northeastern community to express their hopes and fears surrounding climate action and climate change.
