" My fuel and drive stems from love, compassion, and empathy. Medicine has shown me so much more than just sick patients. It has opened my eyes to the bigger picture of humanity and the need for impact beyond the hospital walls. Being a Millennium Fellow puts me in a space that sparks my creativity and innovation and connects me with other passionate, innovative individuals and mentors. I am genuinely excited for this transformative journey. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Gravida Care Initiative
The Gravida Care Initiative is a maternal health project designed to improve the quality of antenatal care for pregnant women in poverty-stricken areas. The initiative focuses on offering free antenatal care services, including blood pressure checks, urinalysis, and obstetric examinations. It also educates mothers about nutrient-rich supplements, fortified foods, and critical health practices during pregnancy. Serious medical cases are referred to hospital facilities for advanced care. The ultimate goal is to promote safe pregnancies, reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates, and improve overall maternal health outcomes in underserved communities in accordance to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
