" “I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers me the platform to sharpen my skills and amplify my impact in driving social change. When I first learned about the fellowship and researched its mission, I told myself this is where I belong. The best gift I can give myself—and those who will grow under my leadership—is to remain open to learning, because that openness will shape my life and allow me to create lasting change for others.” "
Millennium Fellowship Project: From Waste to Wow hand made craft
“From Waste to Wow” is a sustainability-driven initiative that transforms plastic waste into useful and creative items while raising awareness about environmental responsibility among students and community members. The project empowers young people to see value in discarded materials through education, art, and innovation.
Through workshops, school visits, and hands-on demonstrations, participants learn how to repurpose plastic bottles and other waste into items such as flower pots, brooms, and pen holders. Beyond recycling, the project inspires a mindset shift — encouraging creativity, environmental stewardship, and community collaboration.
By turning everyday waste into something “wow,” the project contributes to a cleaner environment and nurtures a generation committed to sustainable living and circular economy practices.

I am passionate about advocating for social change and social justice, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion. Throughout my high school years and now in college, I have consistently stood up to make a difference through my projects and initiatives. One of these includes leading a youth-driven awareness project on recycling and community responsibility, which encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices. My goal is to contribute meaningfully to advancing social development and building a just society for all.
